Some of the strangest and perhaps funniest things happen when you show houses to a potential buyer.

I got my first active rain lead a few months ago and have been showing the buyer from Wisconsin ever since.  My buyer has already lived in the Valley of the Sun, has now retired and is looking for an Arizona home.  We have been to every retirement community in the East and West Valley.  I am not going to say which city we were in when this happened because it can and probably has happened anywhere in the entire state.  We live in the desert and yes, there are scorpions, snakes, gila monsters, roaches and geckos in the desert. 

According to the listing information and pictures provided, this home is exactly what the buyer wanted.  I opened the front door to a lovely home that appeared to be perfectly staged.  We strolled through the rooms and she was placing her furniture.  The table would go here, the sofa there, and the TV could be mounted here.  The backyard was walled and provided all of the privacy that she wanted and was ideal for her dog.  The kitchen was the exact configuration that she wanted with the exact upgrades.  The master bedroom was the perfect size.  Whoa, after two months we finally found the perfect home!

But wait; let's go back outside to see how she would position her patio furniture.  The buyer saw a piece of wood lying on the patio.  She walked over and turned the small 2x6x6 with the toe of her shoe.  Out ran a roach and a baby scorpion.  She stepped on the little 1" scorpion and killed it.  It was at that point I knew I would be showing her other homes this week. 

My buyer complained all the way back to the office about how she itched.  She laughed knowing that if another scorpion had crawled up her pants leg she would have already been bitten and would have felt the bite.  YIKES!  How a little creature killed the sale of the perfect home.  I will be showing her more homes on Monday.  Oh well, it's my job to find her that home that she will be comfortable in.

A great way to revive yourself when in a sales slump is to kick off your shoes and dance.  It's like the old adage that says to keep young, stay around young people.  Mimicing positive people who act young at an older age, can also be a jump-start.   

What Legs!  What a dancer and a performer! Tonight's sold out Tina Turner concert in Arizona can only be described as outrageous!  At 68 years old, Tina Turner can still dance and has a clear voice as it was years back.  The house rocked dancing to the popular and favorite Proud Mary.

If you haven't seen Tina perform, go - you won't be disappointed. You will leave smiling, humming a tune and just with an uplifted feeling, ready to conquer the world.

 

 

 

 

 

 

When someone tells you that the picture on your business card does not look like you, you need to take action.  This happened to me last month at a seminar. 

My business card picture was taken in January 2005 and I liked it.  I came from the corporate world where everyone dressed in black and business pictures depicted a strong business profile. 

After that seminar I made up my mind that I would get a newer updated picture.  Today I got a haircut, a new and different hair color - just an altogether new and updated look.  My brown locks are now golden and I am missing 4 inches off the back.

I remember as a child my mom would always say, get your hair out of your eyes.  Now it's vogue.  What's up with that?  I can't imagine why I need to have bangs that go down into my eyes but according to my hairdresser, it is the most latest.  I rubbed my eyes all the way home.  I guess that it will take me some time to get accustomed to my new do.

Last week I posted a blog about Tina Turner coming to Arizona.  Even though I am far from 68, when I am 68 I am going to make sure I can swing like Tina, move like Tina and look young like Tina!

I love Tina's visual performances.  I want to move and look as good as she a does when I am in my 60's.

How time flies when you are having fun.  Can you believe it; Sun City West Arizona will be celebrating its 30^th year anniversary!  Sun City West is an adult community (55+) that was the brilliant conception of Del E. Webb that came to fruition in 1978.

Located in the northwest valley of Arizona, Sun City West has over 26,000 homes and is know for its 9 golf courses, 4 recreation centers, over 200 clubs and LOW PROPERTY TAXES!  Besides that, there are many restaurants located within the community.  My favorite is Michael's which is located in the Sun City West bowling alley.  Residents love Sun City West because everything conceivable is located within its walls... banks, grocery stores, drug stores, clothing stores, attorneys, doctors, dentists, and yes, Del Webb Hospital...you name it and it will probably be within the confines of Sun City West.

The 30^th Anniversary will be celebrated on October 19^th.  Homeowners and visitors will be celebrating at the Beardsley Park which is located at 12755 West Beardsley Road. 

The Sun Cities All Stars Band, a 22 piece band, will be performing.  The All Stars Band will be performing music from Duke Ellington, Count Bassie, Glen Miller, Henry Mancini and other big bands in the American swing era.

Come early and bring your lawn chair.  It should be great to sit under the stars and listen to the popular music of the past while reminiscing with neighbors and friends.
