Today Republican Jan Brewer was sworn in as Arizona's new Governor.  Jan will be finishing the remaining 2 year term of Democrat Janet Napolitano.  Janet Napolitano resigned the position when she was confirmed as Homeland Security Chief by President Barack Obama. 

Jan who was the Arizona Secretary of State, was sworn in as Governor at the old capital building late this afternoon.  Thousands of friends, family and constituents attended the swearing in ceremony and the festivities that followed.

Jan is well known in Arizona politics.  Prior to being elected as Secretary of State, she was the Chairperson for the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors.  At the end Jan's tenure with the Board of Supervisors, Maricopa County was considered to have the most strongest financial position than any other county in the United States.  Jan has also been elected as a Arizona state representative and an Arizona state senator.

Jan is taking office amids Arizona's 1.2.Billion dollar shortfall left by Napolitano which will probably be a monumental task for Jan.  There is only hope that Jan can continue her positive financial platforms as when she was with the Board of Supervisors. 

A mother and grandmother, Jan is 64 years old and lives in Glendale, Arizona - home of the NFC champions, the Arizona Cardinals.  She loves watching the Phoenix Suns and gardening.  Her garden is considered one of the most beautiful in the valley.  Jan is known for her wonderful laugh and sense of humor.

It took 62 years to change and that change has resulted with lots of smiling faces and a wave of pride around the State of Arizona.

The football game against the Eagles and the Arizona Cardinals started at 1pm today.  According to local newscasters, streets were bare at 1pm.  I guess almost everyone was already glued to the sets to watch the kick off.  I joined some friends at their golf course home to watch tube.  There were about 15 of us screaming, yelling, waving our white cloths routing on our hometown team just like the fans at the game. 

Todays Arizona Cardinals game was the most exciting games of the season!  The Cardinals have played in the "Valley of the Sun" for 21 years without a winning season.  This afternoon the Cardinals dominated the first half, then slid back during the third quarter, with a 4th quarter nailbiter.  It was a positive winning game with a final tribute to Jesus.

The Cardinals was founded in 1898 and is the oldest continuously run professional football franchise.  The Cardinals finally won the distinction of being the NFC champions.  The last time that the Cardinals won the championship was in 1947.  Tears of joy were shed this afternoon watching the Cardinals owner Bill Bidwell accept the trophy.

In 1988 the Cardinals moved from St. Louis, Missouri to the Sun Devil Stadium which is located at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.  In 2000, Glendale Arizona Mayor Elaine Scruggs had the foresight to bid for the construction of the new stadium in Glendale Arizona and subsequently obtained the bid for the 2008 Super Bowl. The stadium named University of Phoenix Stadium is the home of the Arizona Cardinals since 2006.  The 63,000 seat stadium was sold out today and its retractable roof was open to the 73 degree weather. 

Sports casters gave up hope for the Arizona Cardinals months ago.   The underdogs are FINALLY going to the Super Bowl!  The Cardinals have brought pride, excitement and happiness to the state.  This is even more exciting than last year's Super Bowl in Glendale. 

Thank you Cardinals for your hard work and dedication to the fans.  I am taking the day off on February 1st to watch our team play in the Super Bowl!!

The picture was clear.  Carolina Panters scored at the kick off and thereafter Arizona dominated the football game.  It was rained in Carolina tonight - the Arizona Cardinals reigned that is.  After 33 nonconsecutive points, the Arizona Cardinals defeated the number one seeded Carolina. 

It just took the Cardinals 62 years to get here.  FINALLY!  It is the positive attitude, the team spirit, and the repetitive practice.  A positive game.

Tonight the Arizona Cardinals intercepted, kicked, ran, and yes even danced on the field.  It was one of the most exciting football games in a long time.

This game was another indication that we should not listen to the media since all of the sport casters predicted Carolina to win.  Is that an indication that the doom and gloom that the media is talking about the real estate market is true?  NOT TOTALLY! 

I sure hope that the Arizona Cardinals will go to Super Bowl.  Any prediction as to who will be going to the Super Bowl?   Yes, was raining in Carolina tonight.  The Valley of the Sun was dry and warm yet we have the Arizona Cardinals reining on us tonight!

Go Cardinals take us to Super Bowl, make the Arizona Valley of the SunSHINE!
