It took 62 years to change and that change has resulted with lots of smiling faces and a wave of pride around the State of Arizona.
The football game against the Eagles and the Arizona Cardinals started at 1pm today. According to local newscasters, streets were bare at 1pm. I guess almost everyone was already glued to the sets to watch the kick off. I joined some friends at their golf course home to watch tube. There were about 15 of us screaming, yelling, waving our white cloths routing on our hometown team just like the fans at the game.
Todays Arizona Cardinals game was the most exciting games of the season! The Cardinals have played in the "Valley of the Sun" for 21 years without a winning season. This afternoon the Cardinals dominated the first half, then slid back during the third quarter, with a 4th quarter nailbiter. It was a positive winning game with a final tribute to Jesus.
The Cardinals was founded in 1898 and is the oldest continuously run professional football franchise. The Cardinals finally won the distinction of being the NFC champions. The last time that the Cardinals won the championship was in 1947. Tears of joy were shed this afternoon watching the Cardinals owner Bill Bidwell accept the trophy.
In 1988 the Cardinals moved from St. Louis, Missouri to the Sun Devil Stadium which is located at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. In 2000, Glendale Arizona Mayor Elaine Scruggs had the foresight to bid for the construction of the new stadium in Glendale Arizona and subsequently obtained the bid for the 2008 Super Bowl. The stadium named University of Phoenix Stadium is the home of the Arizona Cardinals since 2006. The 63,000 seat stadium was sold out today and its retractable roof was open to the 73 degree weather.
Sports casters gave up hope for the Arizona Cardinals months ago. The underdogs are FINALLY going to the Super Bowl! The Cardinals have brought pride, excitement and happiness to the state. This is even more exciting than last year's Super Bowl in Glendale.
Thank you Cardinals for your hard work and dedication to the fans. I am taking the day off on February 1st to watch our team play in the Super Bowl!!

Leolinda,
I have been a Warner fan since his Rams days, and backed him all season (see my posts on the NFl here in the rain).....and I had to deal with quite a bit yesterday from my in law's in my stance that the Cardinals would win again yesterday....
That being said, I hope you have enjoyed the ride to your first Super Bowl........however, as a life long (born and raised) Pittsburgh native......that is about as good as it will be for you and your fans.....LOL
Dan, we will take it any day! :))
It is good to see you guys get a chance at the Super Bowl. Good luck and kick some Steeler behind!
Go Cardinals!!
;)
Betrina, this is the most excitement in the city that I have ever seen! GO CARDS!
Isn't it fun? I'm not a football fan, but even I got into the game. I had to take my Mom shopping in the middle of it, and I couldn't wait to get home to see the score. We went to the local Walmart, and the store was nearly empty- I'm assuming everyone was home, watching the game.
I like Warner... Class Act... Not sure what the deal is with Anquan Boldin... He seemed like a warrior all season and then he goes Stephon Marbarry on the team yesterday.
Congrats Cards, but the end is nigh! Steelers crush!
Rewarding Fans...Show me the (Cardinal) bird and get $20 off your Home inspection. Thank you fans and ConCARDulations!

Leolinda, I must confess, the Cardinals made a believer out of me.I will be rooting for them.
Greg
I have liked Kurt Warner since St. Louis and the Arizona team is the I grew up watching in St. Louis.
Leslie, I've come across a few die hard Steeler fans who want the Cards to win.
Sean, Sunday can't come quick enough.
Alan, excellent idea.
Sharon, It's great to see an underdog become successful!
Mike, Arizona fans gave Kurt and the team a fabulous send off.
I have bet against the Cards in every playoff game this year and they surprise me every time. Once again I'm betting against them. Maybe I'll get one right this time.
Steelers 28 Cardinals 10
The Cards played a lot better then I thought they would. What a great game. It isn't very often that the game is better then the commercials.
It sure was a great game! The Cards played with their hearts. I'll be sure to be at the airport tomorrow to welcome them home.
